Legal Systems

Legal rights are rules that protect individuals from the invasion of rights by other individuals, organizations or the state. There are several kinds of legal rights. Federal laws are known as federal laws. Some of them are also based on the Constitution of the United States alone.

A few examples of federal laws include the Freedom of speech act, the Freedom of the press act, the Uniform Privilege rule, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the anti-smoking act, the consumer protection act, the Torture Statute and the Securities Exchange Commission. Apart from these, there are certain private law rights that protect the individual against private law suits. Criminal laws prohibit an individual from committing a crime. Criminal defense attorney is the person who defends a client in court against criminal charges. It is the duty of a criminal lawyer to defend a person against criminal charges.

A few examples of private law include criminal litigation, probate litigation, landlord litigation, divorce litigation, child litigation, Adoption litigation, criminal law, and private lawsuits such as wrongful death and personal injury litigation. Individuals can hire a criminal lawyer to defend them in court against criminal charges. A criminal lawyer may also represent a client in a civil suit that is filed by an injured party. Civil law includes various kinds of cases such as private lawsuits, public law suits, and criminal litigation.

Civil litigations are the ones that are initiated by three parties. In civil litigation, one party brings legal claims against another party that has acted in an unjust manner. Sometimes, people bring a civil suit against a government official for allegedly infringing personal rights. Civil litigation is a courtroom activity. The venue for civil litigation varies from state to state.

Divorce Law is primarily concerned with dividing property acquired during a marriage. A divorce decree is issued by a judge in a customary court. The most important role of a judge is to determine the validity of a divorce agreement. Some states have special laws for property settlements, while other states use a system of limited divorce.

The constituents of legal systems are different in various countries. In the US, the framers of the Constitution gave specific powers to the legislature, which are referred to as constitutional authorities. In other countries, the constituents are generally elected through a proportional vote. In most of the countries, the supreme court consists of a single court, which is called the supreme court.
